Per A. Vatne has been doing engineering works since the mid-seventies. He started out as a field engineer, firstly on construction sites for hydro-electrical power plants maintaining heavy equipment for tunneling.
Thereafter followed a few years on offshore rigs doing installation, commissioning, and operation of newly developed equipment for oil well drilling. Since 1983 he has spent most time and effort developing and designing machinery and equipment for deep-well drilling, construction and even dredging for land reclamation. He has been executing projects in Norway and Asia. He has gained a reputation for innovative concepts but also proved the ability to implement and deliver. He has signed in the range of 40 patents of which some have been commercialized for substantial values. Among his many accolades and achievements, it's worth mentioning The Woelfest Best Mechanical Engineering Achievement Award at Houston OTC and Stavanger ONS Innovation Prize for his groundbreaking RamRig.
